My Tai Chi Style and Related Arts

I teach the long form(108) of Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan. It is known for it’s slow graceful flowing movements that contain power and depth. It can be practiced to improve health, build strength, develop balance and as a fighting art. In addition to the Tai Chi form I also teach Chi Kung, I Chuan and pushing hands. Chi is energy/breath. Kung means work. So, Chi kung is energy work. It is made up of slow repetitive movements that coordinate mind, breath, movement and spirit. I Chuan is a try simple yet powerful form of energy building meditation. I Chuan means intention system. We use our intention to cultivate our chi. Pushing hands is the two person work in Tai Chi. It helps to integrate and deepen all the other elements.

My Background

I began studying Tai Chi Chuan in 1980 with Sifu Fong Ha in San Fransisco, California. He is still my teacher. I have been teaching since 1984. I currently teach the complete system of Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan, Pushing Hands, I Chuan, and Qi Gong. My work with Sifu Fong Ha has continued to inspire my practice and my teaching.
